Bailey is at two weeks post amputation and is doing well. These two weeks were rough at times and he had me worried a few days, but after reading several posts on this website on various forums has helped me understand what he was going through. I worried less.
He has been adjusting to being a tripawd fairly well and is starting to act like himself. He has been going upstairs now without any problems; almost like he has 4 legs. The other night he scared me when he jumped on the bed without any problems. I guess he was tired of sleeping on the floor. lol
Bailey boy…you take it easy now! I know you feel better but don’t be doing too much “bed jumping” and stair climbing!! Hard to hold back such a handsme boy though!!
WONDERFUL UPDATE!! Yeah, those first two weeks can be a little scarey to say the least!! But boy oh boy, isn’t it wonderful when the sparkle starts to come back? Makes your heart just burst with pride!! And it only gets better!!
Now, he may have a lttle step back in the next week or so ..-MAY….may NOT…so nothing to worry about!
You keep on keeping on Bailey! You, and your mom, are doing GREAT!
Clapping loudly over here for you! Wait!….Oh my goodness….it just turned into a standing ovation! WOW!!
More photos please! He’s so handsome!

Thank you!! It is so nice seeing him be himself. I treasure these moments
He looks like he is smiling. Probably so happy he is not in pain. We have a 8 year Golden that just passed her 17 month ampuversary. We just had amputation and no chemo as well.
That is good to know that your Golden is doing well without chemo. It was a hard decision for us to make but I believe I made the right one for him.
